Airport pick up time: 10am – or meet at Hotel 11am
Our Arrival Day Ride: Start 12:30pm.
Distance: 50km. Climbing: 500m

More About Our Day:

Take an early flight to the Adelaide Airport. The Ride International Tours team will be there to meet you at the airport at 10am, alternatively, we’ll meet you at 11am at our Team Hotel or choose to stay a night prior at our team hotel. We’ll assist in building up your bike then head out for a ride.

Non-cycling options:

Explore our immediate south end precinct, or we have a tram stop directly in front of our hotel. Take a scenic tram ride in the direction of the Adelaide Oval, Festival Theatre, Museums, Art galleries, Rundle Mall shopping district or in the opposite direction head toward the beachside village of Glenelg, where you can take a swim, work on your tan, shop or relax on the golden sands of the beach.

Ask us for some options based on your personal interests, we have some great recommendations for Adelaide.

Our Ride: Orientation Ride, Mountain and Waterfall Loop: 50km – 500m climbing

Ride starts 12.30pm. A favourite loop ride of ours, to get the legs and lungs working for the days ahead on our Adelaide Hills Scenic Lookout and Waterfall loop. You’ll get your bearings from one of our great “secret lookouts”, you’ll enjoy unobstructed views back over Adelaide and it’s superb coastline.

We’ll traverse back through the city centre and stop by the City of Adelaide Tour Village to have a look at the Bike Expo, watch the team mechanics at work, or organise a test ride of the newest bikes with our friends in the village.

The ride distance although shortish today, has a couple of punchy little climbs to get you into the spirit of the Santos Tour Down Under. We’ll be out for a few hours including a visit to the City of Adelaide Tour Village.

TDU Race: No Race Today – Get ready for tomorrow mornings early race start.

 Après Bike: Welcome Aperitif

5pm:
Meet in Hotel Lobby,  we’ll head out for an informal welcome aperitif (non-inclusion) at one of our favourite locations only a short walk away. Our welcome aperitif, is a great way to meet up with other guests, staff and talk about the exciting week of the Santos Tour Down Under ahead.

YOUR HOSTS

Guide Phil

phil anderson

You’ll spend the famous race days of the Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix on a VIP experience with Phil Anderson as we follow the races in our vehicles. Champagne – gourmet picnic lunch’s included enroute during both classics.

Phil was based in Belgium for much of his early pro cycling career, he was passionate about doing well in these early season Spring Classics races, including winning the Amstel Gold Race, 2nd at the Tour of Flanders and many podium places in the one-day monument races.

Our experience allows us to see the races at multiple viewing points en route, including being at the finish of the Paris – Roubaix in the velodrome.
