Non-Cyclists

We highly encourage non-cyclists, fans, or cyclists who like to ride a little and or join our non-cycling group on all our tours. Our Tour teams / staff are industry leaders in taking care of our non-cycling groups, or ensuring cyclists taking a day off the bike have many wonderful, varied regional and race interaction experiences. We have dedicated staff, guides to host the daily non-cycling program, race interactions, and cultural immersion experiences.

Our Ultimate Italy Tuscany Tour is one of our most popular tours each year, we’re very happy with the tour program, on and off the bike. Each edition of our Ultimate Italy Tuscany Tour is tailored to the group, with plenty of daily cycling and non-cycling options available, and support to suit our program around northern Italy.

General Tour Information

We’re pleased to confirm our tour start point will be in Pisa, Tuscany Region of Italy, the surrounding areas are a beautiful part of Italy and are well connected with an International Airport and Fast Train services.

Pisa is a wonderful start location for your tour. If your schedule allows, we highly encourage everyone to arrive to Pisa a day or two early and explore this wonderful city and beautiful surrounds, plus you’ll also be well rested from your travel and better acclimatised to any time zone changes you may have encountered.

In our years of experience, we have observed that guests who arrive on Day 0 and prior are better able to respond to potential travel disruptions like flight delays, missed connections and or delayed luggage. In general, guests are better rested, less stressed, less likely to get sick while on tour, much happier and ready for their adventure than those who arrive on Day 1.

There’s no official program today, Day 0 Pre tour. It’s arrival day for your tour staff too, they will arrive from varied locations in Europe, at various points throughout the day. We’ll all be connected via our WhatsApp Tour chat group, so that we can all communicate.

Next steps from here, we supply your detailed electronic ride routes via email to each member of the group who has signed up on the tour, yet as aways these electronic ride routes are information for guests who like to use, explore this information, use a cycling GPS device, it’s not essential for you to use a GPS device on tour, our staff are there to help, ride and guide you.

Our Pisa hotel is well connected by local and regional trains to Pisa Centrale, and Pisa international Airport. Once you’ve arrived to Pisa International Airport should you like to explore a little, Pisa Centrale station is approximately 10 minutes by a tram/shuttle service “Pisamover” from Pisa airport. With the centre of Pisa a short 10-15min walk from the train station.

Should you choose to fly into Firenze (Florence) international airport, Pisa Centrale Station is approx 1hr 40min by train.

Day 0 – Pre Tour – How to get to our Tour Start Hotel

From Pisa International Airport – you have plenty of options available – either take a private transfer, Uber, Taxi etc to our Hotel [approx 10-15mins], or locate the direct train/shuttle “Pisamover” service from Pisa airport into Pisa Centrale station (approx 10mins)

Once you’ve arrived to our hotel, should you have time, and like to explore a little, Pisa centrale is a very short 5-10min walk from our hotel. Pisa is a fantastic city to explore by foot, with many of the main attractions located in the same area.

The main focus of the day is arriving in Italy – Pisa and settling at our hotel. Check in is generally 2pm, yet if you’re arriving early check in with reception to see if your room is available early – if your room isn’t available the reception staff will be happy to store your bags securely while you explore the local area. Upon arrival today, it’s a short walk into the centre of Pisa, here you can explore our local city and attractions including the famous “leaning tower”, enjoy a local delicacy “Cecina” a pizza made from chickpea flour, or gelato, local coffee and or pastries it’s a lovely way to start a trip, as Pisa is our home, we have many suggestions for you.

Your tour staff will be around late in the day/ early evening should you require assistance with anything.

Advance Bookings:

We open up our Advance Reservations for trips early so you can book and plan well ahead. We guarantee your position by booking prior. If you’d like to organise and book your trip further out than the dates/years we have listed on our website, please contact us via email, phone, & or video call and we’ll arrange everything so you can place an advanced booking.

An advance booking, accompanied by a fully refundable $1,000AUD (Australian Dollar) [approx USD $665, €570, £498] ensures priority booking status when the trip details are announced. Note, an advance booking is not considered final until payment is received.

Once specific trip itinerary details are finalized, we’ll contact everyone on the advance reservation list via email, we’ll include the itinerary and offer a priority booking position before opening up bookings to the wider community.

If a trip fills – as it often does in the advance bookings, we create a waiting list and then offer reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis (based on the date the advance reservation was made) once our advanced booking guest have finalised.

To cancel an advance reservation a cancellation request must be submitted in writing/ via email within 10 days of the trip details being published. The (AUD) $1,000 advance reservation payment will be immediately refunded for any cancellation received within this 10-day period.

Final Payments:

The balance of your trip payment is due no later than 150 days prior to your trip departure date, we will forward via email your final payment invoice. You can choose to make full payment earlier if you prefer to finalise your trip payment early, contact us and we will arrange for an invoice to be sent.

What if I have to transfer, change or cancel my trip:
We understand you may not be able to go on your trip, cancel, change or transfer due to personal or medical reasons. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to transfer to another trip that has places available. If you have a question give us a call or email.

Due to the high demand, limited hotel availability and the advance payments expected by our hotels and restaurants we use, the following cancellation conditions apply to all of our trips.

AFTER BOOKING, IF YOU CANCEL:

150 days prior to departure 50% cancellation fee of the trip price
90 – 61 days prior to departure 75% cancellation fee of the trip price
60 days and less prior to departure 100% cancellation fee of the trip price
