Timeline 1 * For guests who are already at our Team Hotel (Day 0 – Pre Tour Arrivals)

7:00am – 9:00am – Welcome group breakfast at our team hotel. Meet the team and other guests in the group.

8:00am – Meet at team Hotel if you’re staying nearby.

8:00am – 9:00am – Bike Building, and or Meet Your Hire Bike (if you haven’t already done this the evening prior)

9:00am – Non-Cycling – Free Program to explore our immediate area, enjoy morning tea prior to our ride

11:00am – Meeting in the lobby: Official welcome.

11:15am – Non-cycling group depart from hotel to explore Siena and the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

12:15am – Ride starts from Hotel

7:30pm – Meet in the hotel lobby / restaurant 3 Course Tuscan Inspired Welcome Dinner and Drink

8:00am – Pickup Florence Airport, Italy (Transfer Approx. 1hr30 – 1hr45min to Team Hotel – Traffic)

9:00am – Alternatively we’ll meet you at our local train station, Siena Train Station.

10:30am – 11:00am – Bike Building, and or Meet Your Hire Bike, take some morning tea prior to our ride

11:00am – Meeting in the lobby prior to the ride start: Official welcome.

11:15am – Non-cycling group depart from hotel to explore Siena and the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

12:15pm – Ride starts from hotel

7:30pm – Meet in the hotel lobby / Restaurant

More about our day – Welcome to Siena, Italy and the 2027 Strade Bianche Tour!

An actioned packed first day, it’s our Official Arrival Day and start of the 2027 Strade Bianche experience.

Today we will be heading out to ride / recce the Strade Bianche Granfondo course, also doubling up as a great chance to look out for the professionals as they make their final preparations for tomorrow’s race.

Siena and the surrounding area are a beautiful place to explore, either by bike or in the comfort of our vehicles for our Non-Cycling guests.

Non-cycling options

Plenty of options today, the morning is yours to enjoy, options include yet aren’t limited to exploring our immediate area and old town Siena, it is one of the most beautiful City’s in Europe. After our official welcome we head out into the Tuscan countryside that surrounds Siena, while our riders take on a recon ride of Sunday’s Granfondo, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the comfort of our vehicle.

Or, If you’d like some suggestions for more active, walks, runs etc we can make some suggested routes, or relax and enjoy the comforts of our hotel, sights and places of interest around our hotel. Alternatively ask us for some options based on your personal interests, we have some great recommendations for the area.

Our Ride 25km-40km

Today’s rides start from our hotel – as its arrival day we may need a little flexibility to ensure everyone’s bike is assembled and they are ready to depart on time, yet we endeavour to start prompt – “on Swiss Time”.

We’ll roll out of our hotel early and sample the Strade Bianche course for ourselves, we’ll experience riding part of the Strade Bianche course on the famous “White Roads”

What to bring

Each day pack a day pack with additional cycling clothing, warmer type kit and warm layers to put in our vehicle, or in your handlebar bag. In Siena at this time of the year, conditions are generally fairly stable, warm, yet we generally like to prepare for all occasions in the event we have changeable conditions. Normally in March temperatures can be cool to mild. If the weather is looking to be cool, it’s best to carry warm layers – consider riding with a handlebar bag with warm layers ready. Most cycling brands offer good compact 2-3 Litre capacity handlebar bags now – we use *Rapha or Scicon handlebar bags, they are compact yet have enough room to keep your jacket/s and snacks in.

Pack a daypack with any specific hydration and nutrition you need, a towel, change of off bike clothes, shoes etc for après bike. We’ll talk about the weather forecast prior to departing so you can be well prepared.

Tonight’s Soiree

Welcome to the “Strade Bianche Tour” 3 Course Dinner and Drink. Group welcome dinner tonight, our chef is preparing a special seasonal menu to highlight regional Tuscan seasonal produce. Dinner is a great chance to relive a superb first day in Siena, Italy, and talk about the days ahead. (Three course dinner and a drink Included).

Non-Cycling:

Experience the joy and festivities of one of the most exciting one-day races on the calendar. Enjoy the start and finish of the Strade Bianche in Siena. We’ll use the time in between the race depart and finish to explore various parts of the Tuscan countryside and racecourse, and the wonderful small streets of old town Siena, it’s a beautiful center, where we will find a prime spot and wait to cheer on the dust covered riders as they appear in Piazza del Campo Our Rides: 35km This morning after breakfast we will head out for a ride around Siena and the Tuscan countryside, as we are all keen to see as much of the race as possible today, we will keep it short and use it as a loosener for tomorrows Granfondo. After we arrive back at our hotel and freshen up, we will head to the start location in Siena to cheer off the riders for today’s race.

Gran Fondo – 6:30am – 7:30am  –  Breakfast. This morning, fuel up before your Gran Fondo start: Carbs!

8:00am – Arrive at the Gran Fondo Start area

9:00am  – Gran Fondo Start

5:00pm – After event – Free programme to explore Siena, and replace those lost carbs from your ride

Non – Cycling

After breakfast we will head out in our vehicle to support our riders along the way. taking in the beautiful Tuscan countryside before heading back to Siena, and cheering our riders as they arrive at the finish
