Welcome to the Tour de France – Italian Grand Depart Tour.

The 2024 Tour de France, Italian Grand Depart is a unique Tour de France start, it’s the first time Italy has hosted the prestigious Tour de France Grand Depart. We’ll be there to see all the action and excitement of all three stages.

Ride International Tours European base is in Tuscany, Italy. The 2024 Tour de France – Grand Depart is a great opportunity to showcase the highlights of our wonderful region of Tuscany and Italy. We’ll experience the Tour de France race start in Florence, and be there to see all three Tour de France race stages in Italy.

The Italian Tour de France stages will be a wonderful experience, the Italian fans will bring their unrivalled passion, enthusiasm and excitement, we’re very much looking forward to being part of this historic event. Enroute we’ll enjoy beautiful regional Italian food, artisan products and share the joy of the Italian race stages and regions we visit.

Tour Highlights: Cycling & Non-Cycling

Tour start Location: Pisa, Italy.
Transfer included from Pisa International Airport, or Pisa train station

Pisa is well-serviced by Tuscany’s largest International airport [although it’s a perfectly small size airport, and easy to navigate]. The Airport is conveniently located 5 minutes outside of the old town, or the interregional train station is located in the center of town.

Should flights to Florence International Airport work better from your departing location – Florence airport is well connected to Pisa via the inter-regional train line, approximately a 1 hour train journey from Florence to Pisa.

Pisa, and it’s Leaning Tower likely need little introduction, yet we’ll show you the incredible local monument at the best time/s of the day, it really has to be seen to be believed. We’ll also show you the local side to Pisa, it’s predominantly a vibrant university town, and the nearby historic towns and villages including the impressive walled city of Lucca.

Tour Highlights and Brief Itinerary:

Visit and ride all 3 Italian Tour de France Race Stages. The Italian – Tour de France Grand Depart Tour is perfect for cyclists, non-cyclists and Tour de France spectators.
We’ll intercept the race at strategic locations and view varied aspects of all three race stages.

Day 0: Thurs 27th June – Suggested Arrival Day, Pre-Tour Day.
Stay Pisa – Tuscany, Italy [Day 0 – Pre-Tour night non-inclusion hotel night]

Day 1: Fri 28th June – Official Arrival Day.
Transfer Included from Pisa International Airport, or Pisa Train station.
Ride Pisa – Lucca Loop. Visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Stay Pisa – Tuscany, Italy
Welcome dinner and drink.

Day 2: Sat 29th June – Stage 1: Race Start Florence – Race Finish Rimini
Visit: Florence, Tuscany 2024 Tour de France Grand Depart race start – plus Rimini, Emilia Romagne, Stage Finish.
Ride: Adriatic coast to Rimini Tour de France stage finish.

Day 3: Sun 30th June – Stage 2: Bologna
Ride sections of today’s race route ahead of the race.
See race pass twice at a strategic point in today’s race route

Day 4: Mon 1st July Stage 3: Piacenza / Plaisance
Visit Today’s Tour de France race start.
Ride options start from Piacenza, Tour de France race start town.

Day 5: Tues 2nd July: Lake Como, Bellagio and Lake Lecco
Enjoy a visit to stunning Lake Como. Ride and non-cycling program options begin from our hotel today we follow sections of the famous Italian one Day race iLombadria, which highlights, Lake Como, The Chapel of Madonna Ghissallo [a chapel dedicated to cycling]
Farewell dinner and drink.

Day 6: Wed 3rd July – Departure Day.
Farewell Group Breakfast.
*Tour Finish Location: After our group farewell breakfast a transfer departing our hotel at 10am is included to Milan, Malpensa International Airport, or Milan region train station for onward journeys.
